Come one, come Gump to the 41st annual zombie jamboree in New Haven, CT! All the undead bagels will be gathering for our twice-a-decade reunion on Feb 3rd through 5th, 2023.
The schedule of events is as follows:
A frightful Mory's mixer on the evening of Friday, Feb 3rd
Terrifying music rehearsals during the day of Sat, Feb 4th
The events continue with a hideous pregame at Bar Pizza, a raucous Snow Job at SSS, and a truly mindless afterparty at Gryphon's Pub, all on Saturday the 4th
We close the weekend on Sun, Feb 5th with a vile alumni brunch at the Omni where Gumplings of all eras will sing and perform shticks... until we lurch our way back into the horrorscape that is the real world.
In all seriousness, though, the reunion committee is THRILLED to invite you to our 41st reunion. Please RSVP as early as you can.
And please feel free to visit this page again for the most up-to-date reunion information, including the list of registered monsters and links to all our reunion newsetters.

We will be collecting donations towards covering reunion fees and possibly even travel reimbursements for those alumni who need it. Just ask!

If you need a place to stay in New Haven, never fear! We have organized discounted rooms at the following hotels:
The Omni New Haven (155 Temple St): group rate is $199/night. Reserve online by clicking this link, or call 1-800-THE-OMNI and reference "Mixed Company of Yale Alumni."

If you would like to coordinate cars between New Haven and one of the (relatively) nearby airports, we have a carpool doc for alumni to plan to rideshare or rent vehicles together. Link:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TSrypL5XailBqPCVcchbfPEala4C0BgT0cGjwcw4PAc/edit?usp=sharing
NOTE: This is for alumni to arrange your own carpools. The reunion coordinators aren't in charge of this one! If you're interested but don't see anyone with the same schedule as you, keep checking back.
This year, rehearsals for the alumni brunch will take place in two different shifts, followed by a full group rehearsal to learn our new shoe song "Don't Dream It's Over" by Crowded House (arr. Brian Kim '04).
11:30am - 12:30pm: the founders ('83-'89), the late nineties ('96-'00), and the millennials ('09-'14)

1:30pm - 2:30pm: everyone in sectionals by voice part to learn "Don't Dream It's Over"
2:30pm - 3pm: everyone together to practice "Don't Dream It's Over"
Click this link for sheet music and guide tracks so you can start learning the new arrangement: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/agt1c5uqvuhlj7s048zst/h?dl=0&rlkey=pgao82723z0yqfx73net2vx3e
Want reunion tees, hoodies, mugs, and more? Check out our 41st reunion shop! All profits from the sales go towards covering the costs of this reunion and (if we’re lucky) the next one!
You can access the reunion shop at https://gumpalumni.myspreadshop.com/
One of our big projects for this reunion is to create an alumni database, accessible only by alumni and current members of Mixed Company. The idea is for alumni and the current group to be able to find each other, whether it be to find places to stay on tour, to organize local alumni meet-ups, or for career networking.
If you can, please take 5-10 minutes to fill out our brief survey below:

The Complete Schedule
We are just a few days away from the big reunion! The organizers have been hard at work finalizing the program, and we wanted to share with you all the juicy details. Keep scrolling to find the times, locations, and descriptions of each of the weekend's events.
An even more detailed schedule also lives on our reunion website at:
https://www.gumpalumni.org/reunion/reunion-detailed-schedule
But first, a quick note on travel...
If you're flying into or out of Bradley Airport or any of the NYC airports, Nina Rastogi '02 created a clever spreadsheet to help alumni find each other and set up their own carpools. If this applies to you, check out this doc below, fill in your information, and look for others with similar travel schedules: Carpool Google Spreadsheet link

Spotlight: Music & Shtick
What would the reunion weekend be without plenty of music and hilarity? From Mory's to the alumni rehearsals to brunch performances, we've got you covered. And the most exciting part: we have a new arrangement we'll be learning a new shoe song together!
Don't Make Me Sing...
Yes yes we're coming to watch the undergrads perform, sure sure sure. But ALSO we like to make mouth sounds too. Here's when we get to be the stars:
Friday Mory's (8:30 - 10pm): We'll sing rounds of "It's" and probably a few Gump classics in between hors d'oeuvres and drinks.
Saturday Rehearsals (11:30am - 3pm): This is when we'll freshen up our skills for the Sunday brunch and learn a new song(!)... more info below.
Snow Job (6 - 8:30pm): We'll snap our fingers, inappropriately hum foofs, and then close the show by all storming the stage for "Zombie Jamboree."
Sunday Brunch (10am-1pm): We'll close the weekend with our traditional alumni brunch, this time in the ballroom at the Omni (with the candle stick). Groups from each era will perform, and we'll close with a few group songs.
Alumni Rehearsals
The first thing we'll do on Saturday will be the alumni rehearsals at the Loria Center, 190 York St. (the newer part of the School of Architecture). Alumni will group up by era to practice their brunch sets and whatever else they feel, and then around 1:30pm we will start learning "Don't Dream It's Over" (arr. Brian Kim '04), first in sections and then as a full alumni choir.
Check out this schedule below, because different era groups have different call times. (This is to allow people to sing with more than one era if they want.)
11:30am: Classes of '83—'89, '96—'00, and '09—'14
12:30pm: Classes of '90—'95, '01—'08, and '15—'22
1:30pm: Sectionals by voice part
2:30pm: Full choir
"Don't Dream It's Over"
We've got a special treat this year! During our rehearsals, we'll be learning "Don't Dream It's Over" by Crowded House (arr. Brian Kim '04). The current Gump picked the song and are learning it too!
Even if you can't make the brunch, we invite you to learn the song with us. And if you would like to get a head start, here is a link to the arrangement and guide tracks: the "Don't Dream It's Over" Dropbox folder.
Bring your photos, videos, etc. to reunion!
The alumni org is collecting old photos, videos, gig posters, and SJ recordings, all to add to our digital archives. We will digitize them and return them to you after reunion.
Here's what we're looking for:
Snow Job recordings from before 2003 or after 2014
Any and all videos
Photos from your time in the group
Old posters, flyers, tour guides, etc.
Shticks

The Alumni Survey Edition
A New Project
The Alumni Database: what is is, why it is, and how you can help
This year, in conjunction with our 41st reunion, we are creating a new way for alumni and current Gumplings to connect with each other: whether you're trying to organize a get-together in your area, or you're a new grad looking to find Gump alumni in your industry.
To that end, we are collecting information from any and all Gump alumni in a short 5-minute survey. It is totally optional, but please participate if you can!
Survey link: https://airtable.com/shrWWHHAPsZrf9ns3
Based on your answers, the Gump alumni org is planning to put together a private invite-only spreadsheet for us to be able to find each other. We know it sounds dry, but this could be a major boon for job-seeking Gumplings and for folks who want to connect with their local Gump families.
We are so appreciative of the folks who already noticed the link and filled out the survey. Thank you!!

Hiya fam! We're bringing you a few little updates today about hotel blocks and where to find the current list of reunion attendees.
But first's things first...
We wicked necromancers of the reunion council want to clear up a question that has been raised by a few different alumni: Did they change the jam theme this year?
The answer is... NO! Snow Job is still Snow Job. Our ghoulish reunion theme (Dawn of the Living Gump: The Post-Pandemic Zombie Jamboree) is just a fun thing for us old gumpy corpses... the undergrads can't have it!
Want to stay at The Study?
You still can!
In case you still need a place to stay for reunion, we have good news: we just secured 10 more rooms in our discount block at The Study. Plus it looks like our Omni booking link still works... yay! More info below:
The Omni New Haven (155 Temple St): $199/night. Reserve online by clicking this link, or call 1-800-THE-OMNI and reference "Mixed Company of Yale Alumni." **Pro tip: the Omni is where our Sunday brunch will be!
The Study at Yale (1157 Chapel St): $199/night, must book by Jan 20th. Reserve online by clicking this link, or call 1-203-503-3900 and reference "Mixed Company of Yale Alumni."

If you need help attending reunion...

If you're interested in this option, please email reunion coordinator Scott Hillier '10 (s.thompsonhillier@gmail.com) and he can hook you up.

Gumplings oh Gumplings,
As the reunion committee is gearing up for our highly anticipated 41st reunion on the weekend of February 3-5, 2023, we need just 1 minute of your time to settle something for us:
Where should our Snow Job pregame be?
For years, Viva's has been the traditional first-stop for Snow Job revelry, but it's also a tight fit when we're expecting 120+ attendees, so we could use your help deciding. Please take a quick moment to fill out this 2-question survey about the pre-game:

More Reunion Info Coming Soon...
The reunion committee has almost finished booking venues, getting merch quotes, and reserving discount hotel blocks. We are hoping to send out the schedule and registration in early December.
In the meantime, if you have any questions about reunion, please feel free to reply to this email or contact reunion chair Sara 'Ace' Koulen '87 at skoulen@hotmail.com.
Nominations for the Board of Directors
Every year, the Mixed Company of Yale Alumni (MCYA) holds elections for the Board. Please reply to this email if you're interested in getting involved or if you have any questions about the Board and what we do! We'd love to add some new voices to our crew 😊
Cheers,
Mixed Company of Yale Alumni
Dearest Gumplings,
We are excited to announce that the date of Snow Job has been set and that we are officially planning our 41st Reunion for the weekend of February 3-5, 2023.
Please save the date, and feel free to start booking travel! The main events will be on Saturday (rehearsals during the day followed by Snow Job and our afterparty at night) and Sunday brunch.
More information will come over the coming months, but there is one thing we ask right now:
❗❗Please take our preliminary reunion survey❗❗
https://forms.gle/JY9wzaXuubbm6rdJA
We so appreciate your timely responses. This will be very helpful to the reunion organizers, just to get a rough headcount for the event. It is not an official RSVP, don't worry!
In the meantime, if you have any questions about reunion, please feel free to reply to this email or contact reunion chair Sara 'Ace' Koulen '87 at skoulen@hotmail.com.
